Trident will provide telecommunication services to the South East Asian and Western Australia markets, providing high quality robust telecommunications for the mining, oil and gas industries as well as Government subscribers and other commercial users in the regions. These services will also include the provision of data centre co-location to the market in these area.
The data centres will be connected via three main transmission route sections:
The Subsea Section: Trident will construct a new submarine cable from Perth to Onslow and onward (via a new branching unit) to Indonesia, where it will join an existing operational submarine cable – Matrix. Branching Units (BU) will be installed on the new section of the cable off Onslow, Australia and south of Sundas Straight, Indonesia.
The Terrestrial Section: A new terrestrial link will be constructed from Perth to Onslow, Karratha and Port Hedland following the North West Coast Highway. This terrestrial route will interconnect at Onslow with the subsea section and form a terrestrial ring and be called the Southern Trident ring.
Future Expansions: Trident is examining expansion via passive subsea (servicing existing and future LNG service platforms) and terrestrially into the eastern Pilbara region.
