FOUNDER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Alexis has over 20 years’ leadership experience in the telecommunications, technology, innovation and engineering industries across the Asia-Pacific region. He has a proven 15-year track record in building and leading management teams in Australia, China and Southeast Asia. He is also an executive negotiator of multimillion dollar capital finance programs for telecommunications and data centres in the private and government sectors.

Alexis previously held roles in global development, joint ventures and M&As, and corporate advisory in telecommunications investment and infrastructure development for Schlumberger and TE Connectivity Ltd, formerly Tyco Electronics Ltd, including the first launch of 3G services across Asia, Europe and Australia. Earlier roles include sales and business development at Telstra and Optus.

A serial international entrepreneur since 2003, Alexis is actively involved in technology investments, infrastructure development and employment creation in China, Malaysia and Singapore.

Paddy Jayawardena

Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer

Paddy is a seasoned financial management executive and has spent more than a decade working across the telecommunications and submarine cable industries. He is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School.

During eight years as Group Manager for Corporate Development, M&A and Risk for Telstra in subsea fibre optics business development, Paddy led investments, divestments and refinancing of Telstra’s $3 billion subsea asset portfolio which represented 11% of global capacity. He was involved in the consortium Australia-Japan Cable (AJC) and the global Reach network (a joint venture with PCCW) projects.

In a previous role as Group Risk Manager for BlueScope Steel, he led the risk compliance and governance functions across the company’s Australian, New Zealand, Asian and North American businesses.

David Buckingham

Non-Executive Director

David has over 18 years’ financial and leadership experience in the telecommunications industry.

Between 2008 to 2015, David held Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary roles at iiNet, a major Australian ISP. During that time iiNet grew into the 2nd largest DSL broadband provider in Australia and received numerous industry accolades for outstanding service excellence. Prior to iiNet, David was based in the United Kingdom where he held a number of senior financial roles at Telewest and Virgin Media, one of the United Kingdom’s largest ISPs and cable TV operators.

David is currently Chief Financial Officer of global education provider, Navitas Limited, responsible for the financial operations of the company worldwide. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Directors (GAICD).

Greg Bader

Non-Executive Director

Greg has over 20 years’ experience in the ICT industry with a proven track record of achieving corporate growth for a range of companies, both in Australia and overseas.

Greg held the positions of Chief Business Officer and Chief Technology Officer at iiNet, a major Australian ISP, from 2003 to 2015. While at iiNet, he was tasked with heading up the business service division and grew revenues to more than $200 million. He also led the deployment of Australia’s largest independent ADSL2+, VoIP and IPTV networks. Previous roles include various managerial positions at Ericsson, Lucent Technologies, Nokia and Optus.

Greg is currently Chief Executive Officer of leading Australian online property portal, Rent.com.au. He holds an MBA from Murdoch University.

Paul Brooks

Head of Networks & Technology

With over 20 years’ experience, Dr Brooks is an expert in telecommunications network design, planning and operations. He has held several executive technical leadership roles with domestic and international carriers, bringing extensive hands-on experience in broadband access, optical fibre networking, and global backbone network design and operations.

Previous roles include Co-founder of Vocus Group (ASX:VOC) before listing, Chief Technology Officer at TransACT Communications, and Head of APAC Engineering for Global One / Sprint International.

Paul is an active participant within Communications Alliance and the Australian ISP community. He is a Director of Internet Australia and a Director of the Interplanetary Networking Chapter of the Internet Society. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics and Optics from the University of New South Wales.

Chris de Josselin

Executive Vice President, Strategy & Development – Asia

Chris has 20 years’ experience in the technology industry. He maintains an excellent track record having secured, negotiated and successfully delivered multimillion dollar international technology programs across a diverse portfolio of industry sectors, including telecommunications, energy and resources, healthcare, government and defence.

After an early career in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and in defence intelligence, Chris held subsequent public and private sector roles in technical engineering, project management, business development and executive management.

In 2009, he joined Fujitsu Australia Limited where he held a number of leadership roles in the security and intelligence, and oil and gas divisions. Prior to Trident, Mr de Josselin led global sales and marketing for an Australian SaaS-based software company.

Chui Lin Chong

Chui Lin is a senior marketing and communications professional with private and public sector experience working across energy and resources, innovation, technology and telecommunications industries.

Chui Lin brings strong expertise in strategy, branding, corporate communications and marketing communications. She is adept at aligning brand and business strategy with holistic marketing and communications activities, and generating engagement among various stakeholder groups.

Within the private sector, Chui Lin’s remit has included corporate branding, strategic marketing and stakeholder communications. During her time in the Western Australian State Government, she led marketing, communications and media activities for major infrastructure, innovation and digital projects.
